BP petrol stations

On the Estrada Nacional 1, the concept was an image original enough to be noticed at driving speed. They are bright objects, but the light is soft and the night atmosphere easy — they have become a meeting point and a place to stop for people on the road.

The project involved studying the pattern and the dimensions of the perforation in the panels that clad the facade, so that the sheet would deliver exactly the quantity of light the place asked for.

The lighting is dynamic, dimming gradually through the night to save energy without the change being noticed.

Since every bay is identical, a narrow band of light marks the entrance to the shop. At the hour the shop closes that band goes out and another comes on in its place, pointing to the payment window.
